Lana offers workshops, residencies, author visits, and professional development sessions that promote inclusive, cross-curricular learning as well as community awareness. Project details are determined in coordination with the school to best suit its unique needs. Past explorations included life cycles, defining community, sky science, Alberta’s regions, immigrant history, democracy, cross cultural study, alternative energy exploration (solar and wind) and indigenous animal perspectives. Fees are based on the number of students/classes, geographic location of the school and booking date.
HALF-DAY WORKSHOP
Lana's half day workshops utilize the arts to facilitate cross-curricular learning.
Hands-on, activity based mini-workshops examine specific themes related to emotional mapping, story building and full body exploration. Activities are time tested to immediately engage children grade levels 1 to 6.
FULL DAY WORKSHOP
Lana's full day workshops engage children grade levels 1 to 6 in the creation of collaborative, student driven stories.
Stories are curriculum-centred with clear structure and purpose, using full body discoveries including hoops, cloth, mask and shields. Working closely with teachers and administrators, integrated program planning allows Lana to develop workshops that suit the needs of each school's development goals.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCY
Lana's Residencies provides schools with an interactive theatre experience, facilitating the creation of an original production that includes everyone.
When working in Elementary schools, all grade levels (including Kindergarten) can be incorporated. Residencies can also be designed for a specific class or grade level. Full residencies occur over consecutive weeks (7 lessons per class) with a Summation of Learning at the end of the process.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Learn by doing... the perfect opportunity for educators! Experience for yourself what Lana has to offer, including broadening your vocabulary and heightening your awareness of the benefits of storytelling—for you and your curriculum. Register for a half or full day exploration of storypathing.
STORIES THAT HEAL

Join Lana on a healing journey using compassion, humour and metaphor to achieve wellness. For this group workshop, Lana engages adults and special interest groups to explore the connections between healing and the creative process. Be prepared to share and create, using story boxes filled with tactile objects and tender hand gestures that soothe souls and celebrate the gift of memories.

PERFORMANCES
Experience a glimpse into the ancient art of storytelling!
Lana loves intimate gatherings (under 200) to model the power of story structure and, where appropriate, teach the curriculum connection behind her inspiration. Original creation is key to this highly theatrical experience... offering a glimpse into the old way where the teller becomes all of the characters as the story unfolds.
