Lana excels at cross curricular programming for children, collaborative projects in mixed media, and original story creation.

LANA'S CAREER

Lana has been a professional actor/singer since 1979. Celebrating twenty five one-woman shows, eleven plays and four published books, her original creations have provided decades of touring across Canada and the UK.  Closer to home, Lana is in constant demand as a Drama Specialist and as an Artist in Residence for special interest groups.  She has taught at the University of Calgary, Mount Royal College, Old Sun College, University of Lethbridge and Artstrek.

Lana specializes in the presentation of physical theatre and storytelling for all ages. She has collaborated, directed and written for the Magdalena Project (feminist UK theatre company), Mount Royal University's Children's Theatre Tour and the University of Calgary's Wagonstage.

LANA'S CREDENTIALS

Lana has received numerous grants to further her artist journey. Most notable to date: cSPACE Creative Incubator Initiative, Sunset Theatre Exploration series, Banff Center writing retreat, Thompson University screenwriting workshop and a storytelling intensive with Canada’s national treasure Richard Wagamese. 

 

In the past, Lana was the proud recipient of the Duval Lang Theatre for Young Audiences Award for excellence in her field and received two BP A+ for Energy Grants culminating in solar energy film shorts (2015) and wind energy radio plays (2017) written and produced by children.
